Which means, even though your call out color is registered against color calibrated substrate print mediums, the colors will appear slightly different when place next to others substrates. Even though it’s the same Pantone color calibrate print.

For example… your outdoor coated canvas may appear brighter because it’s refracting more light. Verses other substrate types which may appear darker because they’re absorbing more light. Make sense?

This is an industry standard. Yet not many actually advise you of this color refracting phenomenon.
